There is a disturbing news, a Sofer in Cedarhurst is poisoning the minds of any one who has tefilin with Ksav Arizal and convinces them to change to Beth Yosef
Here is a Teshuva from the baal Mishmereth Stam against this practice http://bit.ly/xES2Q6 דע מה להשיב

  2. What is your intent with this post? if you are trying to warn people about the sofer (which I don't think would be right) then why be vague and if you are (properly) trying to avoid naming the sofer and instead raising a general issue for discussion, I would respectfully recommend editing out the location since there are very few soferim out here.

  3. we have to be very carefull before posting somebodies wrongdoing without confronting him. Many times i confronted sofrim who were quoted saying certain things and by speakingto them i realised the "quote" was taken out of context.
The sofer in Cederhurst might of found somebody waring arizal tefilin of low or even medium quality, since the person is a godfearing medakdek he recomended the gentleman purchase a new pair adding "especially since your minhag IS BEIS YOSEF I FEEL YOU SHOULD CHANGE"
The sanzer rebbe told people that had minhag of taz to change if they had rambam tefilin.

SEE IGROS MOSHE TO LUBAVITCHER REBBE "although all ksavim are kosher our minhag is ksav beis yosef"
reb shlomo kliger reprimands the "SOFER WHO SAYS SFARDI KSAV IS POSUL SHOULD APOLOGIZE OR BE LASHED"

  4. What seems to be a "side note" in this case see the following teshuva from Shevat HaLevi:
