    I think a shaylas tinok is ok (and afterwards shorten the foot)

    S'fakot Hasofer brings two examples that are close (but not exactly) to this tav. Tsurah 1 is similar (though the right regel isn't as long). He feels that this is kasher. Tsurah 16 is similar in that the gag is too wide and he feels that one would be pasul but in case of safek (which I would go for here based on the picture) then this is a for the tinok.

    I'd think this is kosher as is and can be fixed by shortening the right regel.

I recently tried this kosher ink for my rapidograph and I am extremely pleased with it. It does not clog the nib like other kosher rapidograph inks, and it's very dark and strong. It's at least as good as the Rotring commercial grade rapidograph inks (of course these can only be used with batch numbers that have been lab tested and  approved kosher),  and in addition you do not need to add a drop of regular Sta"m ink (as per the instruction of the Shevet Halevi, which is messy and time consuming).  I was wondering if anyone else had an opinion or comments with regards to their experience with this ink...

Ink, Kosher vs. non-Kosher

We all know that there is no ancient source that requires ink to be מן המותר בפיך . Possibly, as said here before, because in the olden days ink was always  מן המותר בפיך and the question was never raised. It was probably self-evident. Nowadays, no decent Rav will approve an ink which is not מן המותר בפיך  . Who was the first one to raise this question? Was it raised because of animal ingredients or because of non-kosher wine?
