kuba and zanav

The ends of the lines are not aligned, this mezuza is pasul called "kuba (tent like structure) and/or zanav" (tail like, the lines becoming shorter).
BTW the word ויצהרך is lacking the letter hay !!

  1. Question: Are the three lines ending with "Uvisharecha" "onochi" and "uleovdo" considered kuba, since the uvisharecha is in the correct place (it is SUPPOSED to be indented), there is a svara that it should not be included in the kuba since it is in the correct place?

    1. There are 2 psulim of zuba/zanav in this mezuzah according to Rav Elyashiv. The first starts with the line ending Anochi as the following 2 lines stick out the width of an ohs ketana and the 2nd with the line ending with Beisecha. There's no kuba or Zanav here according to Rav Vozner.

  2. there is a debate between rabonim. I think Yehoshua asked R. Shammai Gross, and R. Shammai said one can be meikel. this was on the forum a long tome ago.

  3. I'm going to print this and bring it to R' Shammai soon however in the meantime I'll post what I originally had once asked him in regards to a similar shailo (that was posted here.) When there is a shailo of a kuba with the line of "u'b'shareicha"

"R' Shammai said it's a maklokes R' Wosner and R' Eliyashuv. R' Eliyashuv he said he discussed the shailo with 40 years ago. L'maseh he's makil because the line of "ubshareicha" has to be like that for the shiur parsha. R' Wosner however is machmir in this case. R' Shammai said he's makil like R' Eliyashuv. "

    1. Firstly, Rav Shamai has a teshuva and says clearly indentation of a shiur parsha isn;t included and mentions Rav Elyashiv.

With regards to Rav Vozner, he held the same, as I confirmed with Rav Moshe Shaul Klein. I'm not sure where Rav Shamai heard or saw otherwise. A possible source in the Shevet Halevi that he held the indentation is not included is in chelek 9.

  4. Do you know who wrote this mezuzah? I once read a horror story of an Israeli Arab student in the Technion with calligraphy skills who used to write mezuzot...

  5. I dont know, I have also heard such rumors.
But I know that some unreligious students write mezuzos for side income.

  6. If someone brought this mezuzah to me to check I'd refuse and have told him to put it in geniza. The person who wrote it is clearly not reliable.

  10. I'm going over the sugya of kuba/zanav. Yeriot Shlomo says that Rav Vozner holds that Uvisharecha is counted however, I looked at the source in Shevet Halevi and I don't see it and have not found any other source who says it in the name of Rav Vozner. Even Rav Stern in Mishnas Hasofer, who says "tzarich iyun lehakel when Uvisharecha is part of the kuba/zanav, does not quote his rebbi, Rav Vozner as a source.

Rav Elyashiv doesn't include it. See kovetz 1 of Lishkas Hakodesh.
