FRUM TINOK
many times there is a tiny pgima, this was a bit worsesince it has a kotz sticking out, this is the first time a tinok called it gimel.
The first vav passed but the second vav was read as a zein. I tested the tinok and came back to this shaila after asking many random letters and he said zein again, He then started doubting if its vav or obviously posul.

Wow! From the picture I'm not sure I even would've made a shaylas tinok. I'll keep this in mind iy"H. Yasher Koach! Agav, I like the peys.
ReplyDeleteThe pey in the second picture obviously.
DeleteReb Eli,
Deletei had a very similar case with a mezuzah i had written. when i gave it to reb yakov long to look at he told me that it was a shailas chacham because of how subtle it was. i brought it to rav mordechai friedlander. he held it up to the light, turned it every which way, took off his glasses, closed-then-reopened his eyes....he didn't even want to say that it was 'pasul' but he said it had to be 'put away.' i believe your tinok is on to something, mate.
You had a case like the nun or the vav?
DeleteAny pgam substantially less than a regular gimmel will still be geder shailos tinok. If the P'gam was "subtle" why did R Friedlander put aside without shailos tinok?
DeleteUnless you're talking about the vov, which would also warrant S"T if it was indeed subtle. If it was a gimmel or vov similar to these pics surely it should (at worst) be a S"T
DeleteThere is a major difference between a pgima and a little kotz sticking out
DeleteThe Vav of Uchsavtem appears to have similar characteristics
ReplyDeleteMy first comment was regarding the second picture. As far as the giel-nun, I would be afraid to even make a shaylas tinok, since such gimels are often not recognizable to out tinokos nowadays.
