A place for English speaking sofrim (scribes), magihim (examiners), rabbis and vendors of Stam (Torah, Tefillin and Mezuzah scrolls) from around the world to communicate, share ideas, ask questions and offer support and advice.
Do not try this yourself! Only a handful of people in the world can do this...it is not for the faint hearted (I was holding my breath watching this). Still beats rewriting the yeriya and well worth the few dollars they charge for this service...
Extremely impressive. But, what about the Kessess's chashash that since we cannot know how deeply the inks penetrated, the possibility exists of separating the surface portion from the below-surface part, constituting Mechikah....?
I once asked Rav Mordechai Friedlander Z"L, if an Ashkenazi sofer could rely on a Sepharadi or Temani sofer to do kelifah on a Shem (very common among these groups). He said than minhag Yerushalayim is to allow even Ashkenazim (who know how) to do it.
