Checklist and advice for a Hachnasas Sefer Torah

I am looking for Checklist and advice  for a Hachnasas Sefer Torah in a modern orthodox community

Here is what I have so far.....

1. Kulmus- best to get one that is long white and fluffy....
2. Dyo - 
1. Eli Gutnick recommends  using the (kosher) rapidagraph ink which drys quickly 
3. Make sure they are Shomer Shabbos, and vadi are gedolim,
1.  if you can't be sure without embarrassing someone have them all just hold your hand. Zev M  
2. If someone not shomer shabbos wrote you may need to erase and rewrite,,,,,
3. if the sofer wrote with tevila or at least tevilas Ezra and the owner wants this standard maintained then the person filling in/completing an os should do the same. Yerachmiel Askotzky
4. Paper – harieni kosev leshem kedushas seefer torah –  sample below
1. with nikud  
2. Transliterated
5. Ask righty – lefty – advise write accordingly- if mixed (pmg posul to be a sofer) then offer to have him hold your hand.
6. Say  the word being written together
7. Thick plastic to cover the rest of the ksav - tape to hold it down
8. Fan- to dry the ink at the end  - some use a hairdryer - see dyo above 
9. Do Backwards Hagba
10. Plate for tips
1. The tip plate is distasteful. If someone wants to give you something he'll put it in your hand. Yerachmiel Askotzky  vyesh cholkim - hakol lfi hanyan 
11. Clamps to prevent the Atzei Chaim from spinning.
12. business cards in a holder 
13. GET GOOD PICTURES

3.   Righties must write with their right hand,  

Lefties with the left hand. Please notify the sofer if you use both hands in any capacity.
