Question for Chabad mezuzah placement - Hekker Tzir

Someone asked me if a security gate leading to an enclosed property from the street opens INWARDS away from the house, does it have the same din as the front door (ie no matter how the door swings it goes on the right), or do we say that since this is not the front door of the house, we follow hekker tzir...

Rabbi Bressman et al, pls comment....thanks

    I have a similar shayla on the door to my gina from the side of my house. Even though it has a gate to the driveway and the street, the door swings outwards. I know for the front door we ignore הכר ציר. However, what takes priority for a gina? הכר ציר or the entrance way? I know the sugya of gina is not so simple in the Gemara there...

    Regarding Rabbi Gutnick's question: It is not clear to the exact description.
    If the door is a security door and it is a front door to an entrance then it is no different than any other front door and the mezuzah goes on the right side as entering the building.

      It leads to a courtyard and the front door is some distance away

    במ"ש אודות אופן קביעות מזוזה בגזוזטרא, הרי בכלל בהנוגע לקביעות מזוזה, ישנה הוראה בשם רבותינו הנשיאים שהולכים בתר היכר ציר, וכדעת ראשונים בזה. ומוסיפין בזה ששאלום, ומה יעשו אם כל הדלתות שבחדר היכר ציר שלהם לחדר אחר, וא"כ באיזה אופן יכנס לחדר, וענו ע"ז, יכנס דרך החלון. אבל הנ"ל הוא מלבד הדלתות היוצאות לחצר או לרה"ר. וכדאי שיוודא פרטים מזקני אנ"ש אשר בסביבתו, ושבטח גם להם ידוע עד"ז.

I recently tried this kosher ink for my rapidograph and I am extremely pleased with it. It does not clog the nib like other kosher rapidograph inks, and it's very dark and strong. It's at least as good as the Rotring commercial grade rapidograph inks (of course these can only be used with batch numbers that have been lab tested and  approved kosher),  and in addition you do not need to add a drop of regular Sta"m ink (as per the instruction of the Shevet Halevi, which is messy and time consuming).  I was wondering if anyone else had an opinion or comments with regards to their experience with this ink...

Ink, Kosher vs. non-Kosher

We all know that there is no ancient source that requires ink to be מן המותר בפיך . Possibly, as said here before, because in the olden days ink was always  מן המותר בפיך and the question was never raised. It was probably self-evident. Nowadays, no decent Rav will approve an ink which is not מן המותר בפיך  . Who was the first one to raise this question? Was it raised because of animal ingredients or because of non-kosher wine?
