Mem Connection

Another question on the Safrut desk:

Is the mem kosher if the leg of the vav would be added? Or is the connection between the chaf and vav of the mem needs to be bigger?

  1. Shalom Michael. I would write the base of the leg of the vav a bit thicker, and hopefully it will resolve the issue. Here's an example:

    1. by "base of the leg of the vav", I mean where the top of the leg meets the head of the vav.

  2. I also uploaded it to my website as a download, so click on this link https://sacredscrolls.net/resources and go to "Mem question".

  3. Also, if the top of the mem was fully closed, what would the halacha be?

    1. do you mean, if the roof of the Mem was fully closed, as if no distinction between the rosh of the khaf and the rosh of the vav?

    2. Yes as if there is no distinction between the rosh of the khaf and the vav.
