    1. Yes you right but bcs I saw that Reb Moshe is machmir I don't think he will allow to just mevatel the tsura of the letter

    2. He likely didn't take into account that it was at the end of the mezuzah and was reparable. This is a basic case where the machlokes of chetzi ohs shelo kesidran applies, just like if a word was missing or an ohs lost it's tzura after the last Shem and the Sephardim are mevatel as most poskim allow.
In this case we'd use the Lamed of the 2nd Lases and erase or be mevatel the rest.

    3. VERY IMPORTANT : When fixing such an error by being mevatel the tzurah of the letters (rather then erasing them completely), one should ensure to erase the ENTIRE letter yud (not just take off the regel), since there are (minority) opinions that a yud without a regel still has tzurosoh.

While we don't pasken like this lemayseh, we still have to take them into account, otherwise there is a chashash lo kesidron.

There are three yuds, 2 in kimei and 1 in hashomayim, and they need to be erased COMPLETELY!

    5. The Daas Kedoshim is mesupak if it can be fixed shelo kesidran if a tinok identifies as a Yud and we pasken like this nor are we choshesh for this. I'm not familiar with other sources that consider it anything more than a nekuda.
I asked one of the poskim from the talmidim of Rav Friedlander and he's not aware of any need to remove the entire Yud.
Kindly provide sources that we are choshesh for and poskei zmanenu who say to remove the entire Yud.

    7. Thank you. I'll read Rav Weiner's long piece ASAP. In the meantime, I sent it to the posek and he said that Rav Friedlander (and by extension, Harav Elyashiv) were aware of the TT and DK and don't require removing the entire Yud and this seems to be the generally held opinion.

  3. The posek did make this comment:
It's possible that some poskim would say to take off as much as possible to ensure that no part of the yerech whatsoever is unintentionally left,
Similar to those who say (R' Y.M. Shtern) to take off as much as possible since making nifsakin is dangerous as the hefsek may not be large enough. (My comment: Besides the fact that for anything mehudar I require the sofer follow the Avnei Nezer, I still prefer that the sofrim of non mehudar quality do so as well b/c of the danger that the sofer mistakenly didn't remove enough.)

  4. Can we cut out the word leaving a hole that would not create a shiur parsha.
I had once seen this done and wonder if it is a mainstram idea.....
    Thanks,
