How to charge

 Received the following question:

Someone is giving me an old Torah that needs me to review and fix many mistakes and faded letters.
How do I charge? I'm assuming by the hour.
What's the going rate for this work in the USA?

Comments

  1. Its usually a price for the job. Not by the hour. Experienced restorers can estimate price in a cursory check of the sefer.

Do not undertake such a job if you are not experienced. It can be a nightmare

  2. or do it by the hour and it will be a nightmare for the customer.
very few prewar torahs can still be restored nowadays.
